They're dropping like flies

Like we didn't know this already. The only thing that the remake of the television classic still has attached to it from it's original concept idea is John Travolta. Jennifer Lopez, Shirley MacLaine and Luke Wilson have all bailed on the project, and it's director and screenplay have been switched.

After 20th Century Fox conducted focus groups on "Dallas" with small Midwestern audiences, producers decided the picture needed "more laughs" and called for an entirely new, slapstick script. Now being rewritten as "a 'show-within-a-show' comedy," it's being compared to the likes of extra-cheesy "Bewitched." One source blatantly told Page Six, "the script totally sucks."
Shooting was originally scheduled to start this month, but none of the major roles - except for Travolta as J.R. Ewing - have been cast. One insider said, "it'll be a miracle if this film ever gets made."

"Bend it Like Beckham" director Gurinder Chadha is currently slotted to helm "Dallas," but did not return calls for comment. Neither did Fox.

well at least we can look forward to Dynasty..fuck Dallas
